Carlos Vela could be about to make the biggest surprise move of the January transfer window as the 29 year old moves back to La Liga fromm the MLS for a loan move.
There are certain players that you feel must be older than they actually are. Realising that Carlos Vela is only 29 when starting to write this article has really taken me by surprise, I was certain the former Arsenal forward was older.
Vela started his career with the Gunners and made his debut for them back in 2008 but things never got going for the Mexican and after loan spells with West Brom and Real Sociedad he moved permanently to the Spanish side in 2012.
He had a much more successful time in La Liga, which is probably not all too surprising, and even managed to endure David Moyes time at the club.
Earlier this year the 29 year old moved to America to play for Los Angeles FC in the MLS and had a good first season, scoring 14 goals in just 29 games and that is set to land him a very good move.
According to Spanish newspaper SPORT Vela, and his club, have agreed a loan deal with Barcelona taking the forward to the Camp Nou till the end of the season.

The report goes on to say that there is also an agreement that should Vela work out there is a chance to buy him at the end of the season.
Barca are in need of back up for striker Luis Suarez as they recently let Munir move to Sevilla. The Uruguayan is in good form this season but he has issues with his knee and there is currently no one to ease the workload at the Camp Nou.

Ernesto Valverde’s side have been linked with a number of options for their second choice striker including Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata.
The former Real Madrid striker wants more minutes than he’s currently getting at Stamford Bridge, which couldn’t be guaranteed at Barca, and he is likely to move to Atletico Madrid.
Vela has experience in La Liga, is still relatively young, wouldn’t cost much and could return to America if it doesn’t work out for the club.
