Everton Mocked By Google After Poor Run Of Form

Marco Silva’s poor run of form with Everton continued on Saturday with a loss against his former club Watford and even Google has rubbed further salt in the wound of their latest loss.

Early in the 2017/18 season Everton realised that things weren’t going well under their then manager Ronald Koeman and decided to sack the Dutch manager, they replaced him with Sam Allardyce but ‘Big Sam’ wasn’t their first choice.

The Toffees wanted to sign then newly appointed Watford boss Marco Silva but the Hornets, after a great start to their season, understandably didn’t want to let him go and no matter how much the Merseyside tried they couldn’t get him.

After that though Watford’s form in the Premier League fell away and in January 2018 they decided to sack him, pretty much blaming Everton by stating an “unwarranted approach by a Premier League rival” that caused “significant deterioration in both focus and results to the point where the long-term future of Watford FC has been jeopardised” in their club statement.

The former Olympiakos manager eventually moved to Goodison Park in the summer but things haven’t gone well for them recently and on Saturday an Andre Gray goal gave Watford a win their fans will have particularly enjoyed.

But it wasn’t just fans of the Hornets mocking the Merseyside club but the internet. Google’s definition of the word ‘woe’ includes a wonderful example using Everton:

Saturday really was the Everton tale of woe continuing as the loss means that in the past 11 games they have only managed to pick up 10 points.

It’s not quite relegation form but does put them in 16th in the form table with only Bournemouth, Fulham, Brighton and Huddersfield being worse off in that time.

However if you’re starting to think that Googles mods are all Liverpool fans you’d be wrong.

If you were to look up the word ‘Gobsh*tes’ on the search engine and check the location you’ll actually get Anfield:

You’d rather be a gobsh*te in Liverpool’s position than be so full of woe in Everton’s, with Silva’s side in ninth, now four points below his former team who have a game in hand.

What one word best describes your club right now?
