Youri Tielemans looks let to leave Monaco, at least until the end of the season, as the Ligue 1 club have agreed a swap deal for a Premier League midfielder.
Some players seem to have a huge reputation before any of us have seen them. Wether that’s chatter from the continent or because they’re pretty well rated on FIFA or Football Manager they just seem to be set for big things.
Youri Tielemans definitely fits into that category. The midfielder was still a teenager playing for Anderlecht when his reputation started building, mainly on the Playstations of teenagers.
In 2017 the Belgian joined Monaco, fresh off winning the Ligue 1 title, replacing the many names who left the principlaity straight after that famous season.
The 21 year old got plenty of first team football last season but this term he has become one of the first names on the team sheet and started in 20 of Monaco’s 22 league games.
Tielemans wasn’t in the Monaco squad on Tuesday night as they were knocked out of the Coupe de la Ligue by Gunigamp and it looks like he won’t be back in the squad.
According to Telegraph writer John Percy Monaco and Leicester City have come to an agreement on a loan swap before Tielemans and Adrien Silva.
The French side have certainly been trying to add experience to their team in the January transfer window and a move for the former Sporting captain makes sense to their policy.
Naldo and Cesc Fabregas joined from Schalke and Chelsea in recent weeks as they have tried to turn their fortunes around.
Currently the side previously managed by Thierry Henry, before his sacking last week, are sat in 19th place, just one point above Gunigamp in 20th.
The bottom side came back from 2-0 in the League Cup to beat their relegation rivals on penalties, having beaten PSG in the previous round.

Leicester currently sit in 10th in the Premier League but Claude Puel continues to be under pressure because of his style of football.
Silva really hit the headlines when he signed for the Foxes but missed the transfer deadline by 14 seconds meaning he was their player but he couldn’t play. This season the 29 year old has only played two Premier League games.
We’ll finally found out if Tielemans is the real deal.
